Before you can embrace your true purpose and talents, you must first explore them.
The minor program Embrace TEC helps students define their drive and talents, entrepreneurial behaviour, uniqueness and how to utilise these individual assets. Regardless of study program or interests. It all starts with detoxing from traditional education and using the creative tools and thoughts that help you become the self-directed professional you're meant to be.
Throughout the programme, you’ll grow in three key areas:
Personal & Professional Identity – explore who you are, what drives you, and how to turn that into action
Design-Based Working – learn how to solve complex problems with creativity, iteration and building empathy Technology & Makership – get hands-on with tools like programming, 3D printing, laser cutting and more
You will detox! The idea is that you detox from the traditional way of learning and adjust to a Pulsed learning style which is challenge-based and student-centred. You get raw and dirty with emerging technologies and creative tools, work together and individually, and take the first steps to figure out what you want to get out of this minor and how we can uncover your true identity and personal purpose together.
The days of detoxing are Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday.
With the whole minor group, you start working on group challenges that all last from one to 5 weeks. One of them is a meaningful Pulsed for Good challenge that includes mini-challenges and active work around a cause or an initiative that has an impact on society.
During these weeks of challenge work, you have the freedom to decide what kind of role you want to take and what you would like to learn during the process. You also choose a unique track to further work on your personal purpose or develop your entrepreneurial skills or business.
Each week you have three working days in the Pulsed room, divided into challenge days (Wednesday, Thursday) and a track day (Tuesday).
Over the next 15 weeks, you'll have two challenge days and three track days. Meanwhile conitunuing designing meaningful solutions for real end users with the Group Projects (on Wednesdays and Thursdays) you will also delve into your Personal Track Project (on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays).
STORIES
On challenge days, you'll collaborate with your project group on projects that span one to five weeks, tackling real-world problems with real end-users. These group projects at Embrace are built around the design-based working (design thinking) process. You'll follow a structured framework to develop innovative solutions. Groups are formed based on your major and background, creating a diverse team environment. This setup helps you learn not only from different professional disciplines but also from different cultures. It’s a valuable opportunity to practice real future scenarios—where you’ll work with diverse teams in your professional career.
The possibilities are limitless. Have you always wanted to start a podcast about a cause you care deeply about? Is there a product you've been dreaming of designing? Or do you have a personal learning goal you’re eager to explore?
During track days, you’ll get the time, tools, and support to dive into a project that excites you. It’s your chance to explore what truly matters to you and turn your passion into something tangible. Whether you're launching your own business, enhancing a personal project with technology, or getting hands-on with something you've always wanted to try, this minor helps you step beyond traditional learning. You’ll be encouraged to develop a creative, entrepreneurial mindset—and turn your ideas into meaningful, real-world outcomes.
Fail Forward
Here, failing is part of learning. You’ll be encouraged to take risks, reflect on mistakes, and grow from them. We provide the time, space, and support to turn setbacks into valuable lessons.
Follow Your Fascination
Your project ideas start with what excites you. Whether it’s a problem you care about or a process you're curious to explore, your personal interest drives your learning.
